Calldene strengthens delivery capability in Southern England with a new 18-tonne truss delivery vehicle at Dover Trussed Roof Company. This investment improves flexibility, product availability, and customer service across the region.
Logistics investment strengthens Calldene’s Southern England operations
We’ve strengthened our operations in Southern England with a new logistics investment at our Dover Trussed Roof Company site, helping us improve delivery capability, customer service, and product availability across the region.
As part of wider investment in our Kent site, we’ve introduced our first dedicated truss delivery vehicle.
Based at the Dover Trussed Roof Company site near Canterbury, as well as servicing Triad Timber Components in Lancing, this new vehicle will support growing demand for Calldene trusses and timber components throughout Southern England.
Improving delivery capability and flexibility
The new 18-tonne delivery truck significantly enhances what we can transport safely and efficiently. Designed to turn trusses upside down during transit, it increases our maximum deliverable truss height from 4.0m to 4.7m, broadening the range of projects we can support on.
The vehicle also allows us to deliver a wider selection of products, including Posi-Joists and panels, alongside trussed roofs – giving customers greater flexibility and improved coordination on-site.
Supporting customers as demand grows
The logistics investment strengthens our ability to serve customers across Southern England with greater reliability and control.
Commenting on this latest company milestone, Les Fuller, Managing Director at Calldene Structural Timber Solutions, said:
“This investment is about strengthening our delivery capability and ensuring our customers receive an even more reliable service as we continue to grow. Having a dedicated vehicle gives us greater control, flexibility, and the ability to respond quicker to demand.”
A step forward for Dover Trussed Roof Company
The new vehicle represents an important step forward for the Kent operation, improving both capacity and safety when transporting larger and taller products.
Keith Martindale, General Manager at Dover Trussed Roof Company, added:
“The new truck is a major step forward for us. It gives us the capacity and flexibility to deliver a wider range of products, while improving what we can safely transport in terms of size and height. Ultimately, it helps us better support customers’ requirements on site.”
Continuing to invest in service and supply
Our in-house logistics capability will continue to be bolstered by trusted third-party partners, ensuring we can provide just-in-time deliveries across Southern England and beyond.
This latest investment reflects our ongoing commitment to operational efficiency, customer service, and supporting the construction industry with dependable, high-quality structural timber solutions.
