Discover how Calldene’s latest investment at Dover Trussed Roof Company is improving safety, increasing output by 20%, and reducing the need for two-piece frames.

Expanding manufacturing capability at Dover Trussed Roof Company

At Calldene Structural Timber Solutions, we’ve strengthened our manufacturing operations in the South East of England with a £60k building investment at our Dover Trussed Roof Company site – increasing production capacity, improving safety and enhancing service for customers across the region.

As part of our ongoing growth programme, we’ve completed a roof extension that increases the ceiling height within an existing production facility, creating a dedicated truss assembly space.

This intelligent engineering boosts manufacturing capabilities by improving assembly capacity and increasing Calldene’s overall production output by 20%.

Increasing capacity through smarter use of space

Increasing the ceiling height of the existing production facility has allowed for a more efficient use of the current building’s footprint.

Fully operational from February 2026, the expanded facility meets growing customer demands across both of our production sites – Dover Trussed Roof Company and Triad Timber Components – directly benefiting customers supported by these Canterbury and Lancing operations.

In many cases, the increased capability will also reduce the need for ‘two-piece’ frames, helping to cut costs and delivery times while improving structural integrity and installation efficiency for clients.

Supporting safer, more efficient working practices

Alongside increased capacity, the expansion represents an important step forward in improving working conditions.

With reduced manual handling requirements and improved circulation space, the upgraded facility enables safer movement of materials and more efficient assembly processes – contributing to higher productivity and a smoother workflow across the site.

Les Fuller, Managing Director at Calldene Structural Timber Solutions, said:

“This expansion is an important step in our ongoing investment programme. It’s about creating a safer, more efficient working environment at Dover Trussed Roof Company while increasing capacity and capability – so we can continue to improve availability, lead times and service for customers across the South of England.”

A continued focus on growth and service

The roof extension follows recent investment in our first dedicated truss delivery vehicle, as we continue to prioritise improvements in capacity, efficiency and customer service.

This latest investment supports our continual improvement strategy for long-term growth and position within the structural timber market – reinforcing our reputation for quality, reliability and customer service.
